I was in a good mood…

What is wrong with people these days? Ok fine… I’m talking about my mum. She came right through my door… WHEN MY DOOR IS LOCKED! WTH!
Do people ever learn what is respect? My door is ALWAYS locked when I am in the room for one simple reason, I don’t enjoy having anyone (including my family) to come into my room as and when they like. What reason can there be when someone keeps their room door locked? Just like some who locked certain blog posts, you don’t need to ask and it’s obvious! It’s not meant for public eyes. Is that so freaking hard to understand? I have extremely low tolerance towards this issue, because it has been many many many many years!
And there she is… took the spare key, opened it and WALKED RIGHT INTO MY ROOM WITHOUT EVEN KNOCKING ON THE BLARDY DAMN DOOR! Is it going to break all her fingers by knocking on the door at least? I spent the last 15mins screaming my lungs out at her. I hardly go into a flying rage targetted at her. I know it’s not a very nice thing to do at parents, but sadly after so many freaking years she just don’t get it. Or is it a blatant disregard for privacy? Sorry, she asked for it because no matter how lowly educated she is… I seriously don’t believe she is stupid!
Do people ever learn? Someone tell me? Or are my words not harsh enough for her to understand?
Thank God I am going out later, first thing to buy? A DOOR CHAIN! Just like the chain with a holding bolt you used for hotel rooms to hook from the inside. Even if the door is unlocked, she can’t open it at all when it’s chained from the inside. It is crazy even in my own home I have to take such extreme measures. Complete madness!
Moving out IS a NECESSITY! Dammit!

Cool down. Perhaps you want to talk things thru with her in calm way and both of you can try to understand each other.

Erm… it has been YEARS! Nothing to talk anymore… I’ve already lost count how many times I told her nicely… scolded her. Until just now she did that, obviously talking to her nicely in the past for numerous times don’t work anymore.

LOL… i understand what ure saying… wait how old r u first… my mom used to do that when i was in high school, I had to steal the key away from her bunch of spare keys to avoid being disturbed (writing love letters and doing stoopid autograph books which took me hours to finish whahaha).

Evie: I’m in late 20s… that close to turning 30 already. I have the original and a spare key, I don’t know where the second spare key come from.
Ed sings Heaven Knows to Sicarii:
From the time I wake up
Til I close my eyes
It’s everywhere I go
Mummy never knows
Chorus
Maybe my room will shift out… some day
Only Endoh knows~~~
Maybe Mummy find ah boy… away
Only Endoh knows~~~
And all I can do, is hope and pray
Mummy never knows~
I know this is gonna break her heart
And I don’t wanna be that hard
Don’t want to let her know~~~~~
Repeat Chorus

I know just what you mean. Like you, I need to have my own space once in a while. Mums are one thing but how about your own wife and son? It can be a touchy topic and if not handled properly lead to endless quarrels. My solution is compromise lor or do my thing when they are either asleep or away, which isn’t very much time.

Jacelyn: Yea for once, the women just don’t get it.
Walter: It’s hard to compromise when the sight of a “foreign figure” exist in your personal space and that absolutely turns me off. But you are right, time when they are asleep or away… are the best time. Why didn’t they go for a tour more than 4 days? Go for 40 days, I will enjoy it alot.

Ed,
I’m a Mom, so I know that your Mom did it unconsciously. I check on my son and with my resources, I am able to check whatever I want to know. If my son finds this out, he’s gonna be mad too. But I did it out of love and concern. I know it’s not a good reason. sigh….
I would be very hurt if my son screams at me. Please don’t take it as I’m critising or judging you. I’m saying how I feel as a Mom. My son doesn’t lock himself in his room because I told him not to. I respect his privacy and won’t barge in when his door is closed, but when he’s in his room for too long, I would check on him. Sometimes I don’t knock. Yes, not a good model as a Mom. I was trying to catch him doing something wrong. So far he hasn’t done anything to annoy me. He’s a good boy, I should trust him, but I’m inclined to do surprise checks occasionally. Moms are Moms after all even if you’re 60 yrs old.
My MIL is 91 and she checks on my hubby everyday. Calling him in the office and hp to ask if he has eaten, what time he’s coming home, whether he’s coming home for dinner? ……. etc.
I won’t encourage you to move out. It’ll break your poor momma’s heart.
Chill. Happy week ahead. k?

ECl,
I understand where you are coming from. I don’t know if keeping an extra spare key without my knowledge is considered “unconscious” or not. If that is kept for this purpose, then I feel it’s pre-designed and not a mistake done unconsciously.
Your son is still very much a teenager, I’m not. Perhaps it’s due to my previous job as well where I have extremely sensitive documents in my room, it sets a very bad example for both my nieces. What’s there to check? We’re not small little kids anymore. I think we have to draw a line between breaching privacy and and catching somebody doing the wrong things. It’s different from calling someone up to ask if a person has eaten too.
That’s just my feel of it.

Thanks for dropping by. I’m just waiting for my friend to loan me his electric drill now, can’t fix the chain into the cement wall. LOL!
