Give your car a good polish for the new year.

I think some car owners enjoy giving their cars a good polish each year. Stains, swirls and scratches look utterly bad, especially on colours like black, white or pearly blue. Since Nicole wanted to see these, this was what I managed to do for my previous car.

Sometimes it’s quite enjoyable doing DIY car detailing. It’s like polishing your silverware or jeweleries, watching them shine. For this car, I managed to remove swirls and scratches. While scrapping down, that’s the perfect time to add in some paint sealant too. That’s an equally important step, and I always wonder why people spend hundreds of dollars on car polish but not on a simple bottle of paint sealant.

Can’t exactly remember where I got this ridiculous scratch but it stretches all the way from the passenger door to the rear bumper. Finally one day, decided to do something to do it.

Here’s a better look at the same scratch, it’s ridiculously fugly!

Some car owners always rely on car wash in petrol stations, but as some of the conscious one would have found out… your car is clean but it destroyed the car paintwork with the kind of lousy detailing cloth to wipe your car. Until one point, I can’t stand it anymore when the swirls appeared all over the entire car, top to bottom, front to back.

It’s actually a lot of fun detailing your own car. All it takes is two to three hours, or longer if you want a thorough job with multiple layers of wax to protect your paintwork.
