Chelsea’s Avram Grant sacked!
Written by ED on May 25, 2008 – 7:31 am - Posted in Sports & Fitness |I wrote before the Champions League Final of the great job Avram Grant has done at Chelsea, despite being a MUFC’s fan. Looks like Roman Abramovic haven’t really learnt from his lesson, that money can’t buy him silverwares. Just shortly after the defeat in Champions League, Avram was sacked.
For someone who has had less than a full season but posing such a great danger to the many great teams in EPL, and even brought the team to the Champions League Final, that itself is a impressive report card to produce. I am sure while MUFC’s fans are mocking Chelsea on their loss, a part of us knows that Avram Grant has shown to be better and wiser than his predecessor - Jose Mourinho.
Using MUFC and Arsenal as examples, their successes had been, in part, due to consistency in leadership of Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger respectively for many years. Although Arsene Wenger has left Arsenal was once upon a time rumoured to be leaving Arsenal, he’s arguably one of the best managers Arsenal has ever had. Alex Ferguson doesn’t seemed to be holding back a lot too.
Perhaps Roman Abramovic is more keen on one-hit wonders, but sometimes I wonder if the owner of the club is not “faithful” towards the very people he appointed, why should the team be “faithful” to him? For several years, MUFC has lost out on many trophies but I believe it is the faith in Alex Ferguson and his abilities which saw him turn the tide. A lot of patience is required, in that sense.
I’m feeling so sorry for Avram Grant, to put in so much hardwork within such a short time, only to realize the owner treated him with little regards. It’s a great loss to Chelsea. Roman Abramovic reminded me of the Qin Emperor, dying when in search of the longevity miracle. It’s not real, my friend.

Who says Wenger has left Arsenal?
