Friends, are you ready?
Written by ED on August 10, 2008 – 8:23 am - Posted in Friends | 6 Comments »I am not quite sure what has gone wrong with us, but I have this hidden disappointment inside my heart which I did not really talk much about. Perhaps I couldn’t think of what words I could use or how should I embark on this topic, but it doesn’t feel good when I watch friends turned into enemies with each other. If that’s how fragile the connection between people can be, then let’s just quit calling each other “friends”.
Well, I am not about to pull my gun on anybody. If you think that is going towards the direction of flaming, unfortunately that’s not going to happen. For a long time, I have always said that this blog is meant for my own enrichment. While I was reading some blogs of friends over an hour ago, I wondered if I could take on a topic that can also help others to improve themselves.
Still, I do not know how to kickstart this. I can’t pinpoint exactly if things have indeed degraded beyond repair. Or maybe, I have gotten to know a much wider circle of people and hence, I get to see a lot more things. Is it a matter of increase or an issue of frequency? I really don’t know.
Is the sky crying for Singapore?
Written by ED on August 10, 2008 – 3:52 am - Posted in Singapore, Sports & Fitness | 14 Comments »As all of us knew by now, it was drizzling as Singapore celebrated her 43rd birthday. I can’t remember when it was the last time it actually rained on a National Day’s Parade. It must have been quite a long time. For some, it was a cooling weather but on another hand, the rain didn’t really cool some Singaporeans like myself. That’s precisely why I am asking, if the sky is crying for Singapore.
Some of you would have noticed the Youtube video that had been circulating around. In the video, Singapore’s Table Tennis hopeful, Lee Jia Wei, was seen allowing the national flag to be dragged along the ground as she led the Singapore contingent during the Olympic Games opening ceremony. Much like some fellow Singaporeans who were outraged, I am equally upset why such an incident happened in the first place.
Some Singaporeans just don’t get it…

A Quick Meow For Help
Written by ED on August 6, 2008 – 9:40 pm - Posted in Trivial & Whining | No Comments »This serves as a quick update to the cats which I put up for immediate adoption. As of now, they have up to early September to be adopted.
So far, I have only received two enquiries but I had to reject them. They were two young teenagers who expressed their interest. Even though both girls have experiences with cats, both girls expressed that this is their own decisions and their parents are not informed. As a precautionary measure, I need to ensure that the entire family is agreeable to the adoption. Not that I couldn’t trust them, but I only wished they were older.
The thing is, I can’t bring myself to take the risk that the cats are being rejected by the parents. The eventual outcome will be either having the cats thrown out on the streets or they have to be rehomed all over again. The trouble is small matter, but excessive rehoming will cause unnecessary stress to the animals because of environmental adaption as well.
If you’re willing, please help me to spread words out again. The cats are waiting for loving homes.
What does Singapore mean to me?
Written by ED on August 5, 2008 – 10:00 am - Posted in Singapore | 15 Comments »Previously, I charged that Mr Amit Nagpal knew little about Singapore and her citizens upon reading his letter in Straits Times. I am not wanting to be too harsh on Mr Amit, if he ever happens to be reading my entries. He hadn’t been staying here long enough in my opinion. On that, I offer my understandings towards some of his perceptions of Singapore and her people.
I can’t find a better time to pen this, since Singapore’s 43rd Birthday is just four days away. I haven’t written anything like this before, because I am not a big fan of National Day Parade. C’mon, I have participated in it and also a home-viewer for years. Given the rare occasion with such an infuriating letter from Mr Amit, I think I will dedicate this post to Singapore. On the other hand, hopefully this will serve as a guide to Mr Amit on what it takes to be a Singaporean.
