My Rainbow… My Rainbow…

Written by ED on November 9, 2007 – 6:50 pm - Posted in Life, Trivial & Whining |

(Sorry for the picture quality)

I walked into the kitchen and as I glanced out, I found myself looking at a very beautiful sight I haven’t seen for a really long time. The rainbow!

For almost 15 minutes, there I was standing by the window with a cigarette in my hand, admiring the curve and colors in the rainbow. It must have been years. Such an amazing sight, one of the rare few sights that instill a little peace in me. Is that an indication that whatever obstacles I am facing right now will see solutions soon?

While looking at it, I also realised I haven’t been admiring the nature available readily around me for quite a while. This rainbow, sank in me. It’s a special feeling beyond words, to be looking at one. The worries, the anxieties, the stress and all seemed to have vanished in that split second my eyes landed on this rainbow. It’s a pity, the tall flats made a cruel contrast against such a beautiful sight. But, this rainbow is also telling me there are negativities to be transformed into positives.

If this is my hint in crossing my obstacles, then let me share this with everyone else. I hope, all of you cross your individual obstacles in your own best ways. Everyone of you who read this…

I spotted the rainbow yesterday evening too, in the midst of picking up my wife after a half day off. It is a meaningful symbol which represents God’s forgiveness of man’s sin and appeared after 40 days of continuous raining which caused the great flood. Do you know that the other symbols of forgiveness and peace - the dove and the olive branch - came about during the story of Noah?

Perhaps it is time to put up a more conciliatory post Ed? I am sure you know what I mean. ;)

Wherever you were when you saw the rainbow, I suppose seeing it had brought along some good vibes. At the very least, I felt my mood lightened, and it when I needed it.

Maybe quite like what you have written, there is hope to overcome the obstacles.

Honestly, I’ve not seen a rainbow before. That was a nice shot…. I was trying to recall what I’m doing yesterday & the weather. OMG, I’ve got short memory. I took a long time to recall that I’m out shopping with my sis at AMK hub yesterday…. LOL :)

You’re right, usually you’ll get the rainbow after the rain. Seeing the rainbow can only mean one thing… there’ll be fair weather ahead.

You know, the thing is, I bet many people saw the rainbow but not many gave it a second thought. You appreciated the beautiful rainbow so for that few minutes, the rainbow has its significance.

The same thing with people around us…. Maybe its time we look around and give people their dues..lol
