An Against-Child-Abuse Tribute to Late Nurin Jazlin! 1999 - 2007
Written by ED on October 26, 2007 – 7:30 pm - Posted in Current Affairs, Life, Society, World |Many people, especially those who loves kids and have kids, know how wonderful it is to have them around us and watch them grow through our nurturing. They complete the full picture of a family, and sometimes even play an important role in reconciling ailing marriages. That spark of brightness brings us joy and often, tears of happiness. Loving them the same way they love us, should be the only justifiable return we can offer them.
It is disappointing and saddening that for a few individuals, their return towards these innocent souls are abuse, sexual gratifications and even murder. Hence, I decided to write this post much later because I believe this is an all-year-round hunt for her murderer still unpunished and possibly living among us.
Nurin Jazlin’s body was found in a gym bag on 17th September, 2007. She had left home to buy a hairclip on 20th August, 2007, and never returned home ever since. The gym bag in which her lifeless body laid in a foetal position, was found by a shopkeeper in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. She was cited by the police that she had been dead for more than six hours before she was found.
A cucumber and brinjal found stuffed in her private parts suggested sexual assault. It was later determined that bacteria infection contributed to her death. Due to physical changes upon her death, it wasn’t easy to identify this body. However, her identity was confirmed as Nurin Jazlin after DNA tests were conducted.
The truth is ever painful for her parents, whom took a long time to acknowledge her death. DNA tests by the forensic department, confirmed the answer they were dreading to hear throughout the time they hoped Nurin was still alive. Her body was finally buried on 21st September, 2007, in a Kuala Lumpur’s Muslim cemetery.
The torment, the heartbreak, the helplessness and the grief of Nurin’s parents are beyond verbal description. I doubt anyone of us can ever feel the despair and sadness they feel. It is beyond what one can imagine, that an innocent 8-year-old Nurin had been treated with such brutality that resulted in her tragic end to her life. Who in this civilised world, can even bring themselves to commit such sins against innocent children?
The death of Nurin is believed to be caused by a male aged between 35 to 40, suspected to be a psychopath killer. He is also believed to be aided in this brutal crime by a 23-year-old lady. The lady had been found and brought in for questioning while the male suspect remained at large. The lady was reportedly attempting to swallow a mobile phone SIM card, suspected to hold evidences pertaining to the crime. Since then, the Malaysian police has put up a RM$10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of Nurin’s killer; another anonymous businessman has also match an additional RM$10,000 for the same reasons.
The Malaysian police has previously released three CCTV footages of the location where Nurin’s body was found. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.
Any information which may be helpful towards the arrest of Nurin’s killer should be forwarded to Nurin’s uncle - Jasni Abdul Jalil - through his blog. He dedicated this blog to Nurin. He has also posted stories of other missing young girls around the same age as Nurin.
Such cruelty committed upon an innocent child like Nurin, is liken to a beast or worst. Today, this beast is still walking openly despite the crimes he has committed. This beast is still prowling the streets, waiting to prey on his next helpless victim. If God’s willing, may someone with substantial information surface soon and you can help too - by spreading this appeal. If you’re willing, you can also visit another website dedicated to Nurin.
A GENTLE REMINDER; please refrain from posting any post-mortem pictures that may have been circulated to you via email or other modes of communications. Let’s spare a thought for Nurin’s family, who are still in grief. Watching these pictures again and again, is just like watching Nurin being assaulted and killed before their eyes repeatedly.
As much as I wished I could say the words “May her soul rest in eternal peace”, I know Nurin will never rest in peace as long as one day her killer is not caught.

There are many sick people around. Places where you think are safe has the worst beasts. Our schools for example.
