Additional Prayers

Written by ED on September 10, 2007 – 11:01 am - Posted in Christianity, Friends |

Looks like I left out some folks who are in need, so at the request of Trinity I offer my prayers and I hope Lord will share His blessings He has bestowed on me with other unfortunate people.

Coming to prayers, we are often told to pray for ourselves. I know how much I need Him to be a part of my life, but constantly at the back of my head I know there are people worse off than me. They need Him even more, and why can’t we pray for others? All these years going around different churches, it’s always the same teaching… pray for ourselves and God will always be willing to show us the way. Why not praying for others? Why not pray for other less fortunate who are in need more than ourselves? Have we grown selfish not to share His love and holy spirit?

It feels good to be well, but it’s saddening to see others suffering when I am healthy and running around.

Yah, a 35 years old wife & mother is struck with illnesses. With a husband who spills money on booze and women, and a daughter who can’t seemed to communicate with her.

Dear Lord, I pray in thy light, that Yah shalt be bless upon.
Let her life be filled with love and compassion, as a wife and as a mother.
I pray upon thy righteousness, that her husband’s and daughter’s heart shalt be opened up to her.
Forgive the sins, repent they shalt, and allow them to receive her love once again.
I pray upon thy holy spirit, to heal her with thy willingness.
Let her be ridden of illnesses, and continue her sacred duties as thy given her as thy daughter.
In Jesus name, I pray, Amen!

Wan, is an employee of Trinity’s husband. He was struck by a high voltage power line, but it seems that there ain’t any good doctors around him to attend to his injuries.

Dear Lord, I pray in thy light, that Wan shall be healed by thee.
I pray upon thy willingness to heal, and bless him with angel hands to aid his recovery.
I pray upon thy holy spirit, that his life be filled with your holy protection and be watched over.
In Jesus name, I pray, Amen!

Prayer should always focus first of all on God and God’s will, then there’s always others to think about before praying for oneself.

That’s why I believe in circulating prayer lists. As you pray for others and when they also pray for you, the prayers are alike music to God’s years.

I’ve read the prayer requests and will join in as well in praying for them. :-)
    God bless, and shalom!

Sicarii: That’s what I thought too… to be giving. But yet the “modern gospel” are very self-focusing, an area which I would like to see a change.

You mean the ‘prosperity gospel’? :-)
It’s very me-me — give so that _I_ receive, help so that _I_ get blessed. That’s their teaching.

Sicarii: I guess as much, alot of things are me me me and I I I. It’s almost becoming the way of life - as long as I get blessed, who gives a damn about what torment are others living on the other side of the globe.

It’s the world today, mate. We are in the me-me generation.

Not just the me-me, but the me-me-NOW! generation. I want something and I want it now. :-)
A few years back someone coined it as the “instant noodles generation”.

Ed and Sicarii… that’s very kind of you… It’s good to have new friends to pray together! I will update their condition from time to time… Wan has been taken care with a good doctor now, still in the hospital and need time to recover his badly wound.
I agree with Sicarii, I against me me me way to pray… we do pray for God’s will as He knows the best.

    Shalom to both of you!

Our church strongly believes in the power of prayer and praying for others. I’ve not been raised to focus my prayers just on me thankfully, so I can totally appreciate your post. Good work!
