VIDEO: 8 teenagers arrested over taped beating

So much so for our education and free world, that such incidents are happening again and again. I guess it’s not going to stop anytime soon.

Sometimes, I wonder what is wrong with our education system as a whole regardless of our country of origin. Even in Singapore, such an incident occurred several years ago. In Australia, there was even a girl who was gang-raped by 5 teens, who were nothing more than 17 years old when the crime was committed. If there’s anything that needs fixing other than terrorism, it gonna be our social values and respect towards another human.

Are our punishment for minors too lenient? Or are our minors assuming that they can easily get away with probations since they are minors? In such incidents, should we… or is it right of us to put them on trial before the jury, just like any adult offender? I think its controversial, because going by a case-to-case basis will ripped the entire justice system apart all over the world.

Yet, by allowing such behaviours to get away lightly is not a solution. It’s only setting an example and excuse for other teenagers to commit the same crime. Hang on, can we still say it’s a crime because they are teenagers? Personally, yes… and criminals should be punished accordingly to the criminal penal code regardless of their ages. It’s cruel to use the criminal penal code on youngsters, but whatever they are doing in the video, are they any more merciful?

Oh yea, just a while ago someone just said “United States is a single greatest country ever created in the human species…”

Tell me about it now.

The traumatized victim is not returning to school but will be home-schooled the remainder of her high school education…I don’t blame her. To think it all started from a few comments made on myspace…sheesh.

In our country was a case, that some girls harassed her classmate and when it all came out, you know what the director of that school sad? That the best thing would be if the harassed girl leave the school! So not the girls who did it to her should be punished, but the victim. Horrible.
I do not know where our society is going… Guards on schools, killer children… Nowadays children do not have any respect to life and empathy?

Susan: I think the way we adults react to their screams for help somewhat contributed to the way they are today too, so I’m with you on that.

Interesting fire place products you have there, and I wished I had one in my country. A fireplace definitely changes the atmosphere of a room.
