The God Chasers Seminar with Tommy Tenney
Written by ED on May 8, 2008 – 10:30 pm - Posted in Christianity |How does it feels to be a preacher who is facing criticism from almost every direction? Well, that’s precisely why I am looking forward to this seminar on Saturday so much. We have heard so much talks from various Christians of how we should be here… how we should be there… but who is to say anything?
I have attended many churches belonging to the various denominations, but I came to learn that my faith was never about my denomination. Needless to say, it was also never about the title we hold. No doubt we have seen changes in the format of how our faith are being practised everyday, mine is strictly between God and I. Not anybody else…
Talking about Tommy Tenney, he has had stones casted from both end of Pentecostals ministries and the Trinitarians. Many have doubted his Oneness theology and his view of the Holy Bible. Nowadays he looks more like an independent preacher than anything else. I am not sure if it’s right of him to say, “I cannot turn my back on my heritage.” but I am nobody to judge him. If there’s anyone to judge him, it got to be God.
One very interesting advice that Tommy has, is to recognize another fellow comrade as fellow Christians even though we may not agree with their beliefs, theologies and worse off, to denounce them. In his own words, “If they call Christ Lord, I’ll call them brother.” It’s really tough, if you ask me so.
I wonder what will transpire out of this seminar at the end of it. But I think it will be one of the many more chapters leading to my baptism in later half of the year. It’s really a lot of studying to do during this intensive period.
And oops, the seminar is “Members Only”.
