Banning of readers
Written by ED on June 12, 2008 – 3:20 am -I thought I never had to ban anyone, but apparently I just banned 2 readers. Yep, you read it… the curse has been broken when I finally downloaded Lester’s WP Ban plugin. I have been using a few other plugins from Lester anyway, so one more is not too much. If you’re having unruly readers, you might want to consider using this fuss-free plugin.
I don’t mind a heated argument, or a passionate debate to the topic. We see it all the time so it should not be a new or strange thing anymore, especially in the cyber world. However, there are boundaries that all of us should be aware of when communicating online. To think that I barely wrote my Blog Ground Rules, obviously they haven’t been reading. But like I’ve said, if they don’t read… too bad.

Is my English really so difficult to understand?
Written by ED on June 11, 2008 – 8:01 am -I thought this had better be done right, before Mr Heng-Cheong Leong continue to twist my words into something else, which isn’t the case. As some of you would have read one of my previous post here, Mr Heng seemed to have totally misunderstood where I stand regarding the issue.
I am not going to parrot Mr Heng word for word but I will just address the points he raised, and the complete *insert your own word* he is putting up in my blog. For a matter of fact, the others whom have left comments in my post clearly get the picture which he doesn’t. Whether Mr Heng is one of the mouthpieces of the Government, I ain’t sure. It’s just one of those episodes where we pose queries to our Government on a certain issue, the queries are unanswered and twisted into something else.

Blog Ground Rules
Written by ED on June 10, 2008 – 2:42 am -Now that I have finally discussed the problems this blog is facing with friends, both offline and online, 6 out of 7 agreed that it’s time for me to set some ground rules for my blog. I have always tried to stir off any official rules for readers in my blog, because rules are usually boring. They had the opportunities to read through some of the comments left in my blog (in recent times) for themselves, and they felt I don’t really have much a choice other than to put my foot firm down.
I have been considering my options too, otherwise I wouldn’t ask for opinions from trusted friends. Although rude comments are not an everyday thing, it looked like it is rising slightly. This is a long post, so if you don’t read it and put up something against “my rules”, too bad for you.

Advertlets dropped
Written by ED on June 2, 2008 – 3:28 pm -Impromptu post I know. I’m afraid the angels of National Service will have to wait for the next post. Save the best for the last, isn’t it? I guess I have had about enough with blog advertising companies, and from now you will see Advertlets disappear from my world. Sorry Josh, Advertlets doesn’t seemed to make the cut very well either.
I think many bloggers don’t exactly need this sort of income. Likewise, I can drop these anytime and it ain’t gonna cripple my life in any way. Yet, bloggers who sign up for such advertising network expect to see realistic results instead of free publicity for companies. Read more »

The controversy behind bloggers
Written by ED on May 29, 2008 – 2:45 pm -Some thoughts arose after reading Krisandro’s post, and I went in search of the big “hoo haa” he indicated in his post. It was disappointing, I found none. I thought I could find something substantial to read with regards to the development of local blogosphere but after going through almost 3 days of postings, there just wasn’t a single post that indicated any such thing. It would be crazy to go through the entire shoutbox, hence I didn’t waste my time on that.
What generally went wrong was, some bloggers were unhappy that “shallow” posts were being “ponged” more often than others, which discussed “serious” topics more extensively. Who are these complainants, obviously it wasn’t indicated. Such ambiguous was Kris’s post, it left readers to venture out with their own understanding and imagination.
