Why do I blog?
Written by ED on November 8, 2007 – 5:00 am - Posted in Blogosphere, Trivial & Whining |I can’t remember if I ever wrote such a post. I distinctly remembered I once wrote something similar but I can’t seem to locate it. Oh well, since Helen has invited me to join in and share, so allow me to do up this official post on why I am blogging.
For those whom have read About Endoh, you would have a brief idea what my blog is about. It’s really not anything fanciful or a blog to make this world change into a society more humane or similar. I don’t possess that power nor the ability to.
What are the blogs I have had?
I started blogging in MySpace shortly after my separation with my ex-wife. Friends became upset that they can’t leave comments unless they are signed up, which they didn’t want to. Hence, I stepped out into the open blogging platform - Blogspot. Following a bout of problems with blogspot (and evil temptations from other bloggers LOL!), I migrated to this current self-hosted WP blog with my own domain.
What is this blog about?
Endoh Pure Ranting Room is just a casual space where I share my thoughts and writings with regards to certain issues. You will find no niche here, but anything ranging from human behaviours to current affairs. Once in a while, I share some personal writings which will reveal the real Endoh underneath the devilish face.
So why do I blog?
You know that feeling of wanting to say something, but yet all you have are the four walls? Blogging solves that problem, because if I were to walk out on the street mumbling to myself… people would have reckon I am MAD! And a computer is like my dog, I can whine for all I want and my computer doesn’t talks back at me with lame arguments. Let’s just say, it’s a form of “therapy” for myself.
What do I hope to achieve from blogging?
Come to think of it, I didn’t set myself any expectations or hoping to make a difference in anything. I just signed up in MySpace and boom… the words flowed. Therefore, I don’t really think I am trying to achieve anything here. However, with the introduction of The BizWalk, that has changed. That will segment the kind of readers I have accordingly because some of the business readers are simply not interested in personal lives. It’s also a platform for me to share, advise others and learn from others.
I live by the personal motto of: To inspire, and be inspired.
How much time do I spend on blog related stuffs?
Will you believe if I tell you 24hours each day? The thing is, every little thing can be written about if only we take note of interesting little events taking place around us. While we can’t blog about everything, there bound to be one or two everyday that deserves a post. Even while surfing through the internet, things I read on can become a talking point in my blog. If someone wakes up and blogs about their dreams, imagine that? Even for our sleeps!
For my usual practice of writing, I have already shared in my previous post.
Well, if you like… do a similar one and pay Blogsreview a visit to state your post in there. And… this is NOT a paid post. I don’t do paid post as everyone knows.

To inspire and be inspired.. I like your motto and I read the link. You write with sincerity and honesty about your feelings which I find many bloggers cannot.
Now I am beginning to understand why you prefer to remain ano in the blogosphere.
Do you feel the sense of vulnerability when you meet other bloggers in person? Don’t answer that if you dun want to.. I’m just being kaypoh.
Maybe it’s just my personal experience. Sometimes I can write about my feelings becos I don’t have to worry about these people who come to my blog. I’ll have reservations if I know my readers are people who know me in person.
You express yourself well and is able to reach out to your readers. Lucky you found blogging…. Can blogging be called a calling har?

Helen: Wow, you are early.
As much as some feel this is only my online persona, I can assure you that should you meet up with me, I will still be preaching and criticizing the same things in the same manner as I have done so in my blog. The only exception is; I am not as sociable and chatty in real life - not until someone can clique. I don’t believe why I have to pretend to be somebody else, just to belong to a group. This is also why I don’t attend meetups of blogging community and stuffs.
I don’t think I will feel vulnerable, since I have been honest with things I have written based on my own analysis and understanding. I could be wrong in thinking in certain ways, but at least it truthfully came from my heart.
Coincidentally, I am meeting up with a very small bunch of bloggers later for a coffee session. I am sure they will grow to know me better and see the resemblance in the way I blog and the way I speak, just like how I get to know them better too.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one. And I do agree with you that blogging can be therapeutic (especially when we need to whine and rant) though at times, I do find myself deleting the whole whining post after typing it out (before publishing) as I have finished whining about it and don’t see the purpose in being negative on line. The world is already upside down in many areas and why add to it?
