PHP plugin is the criminal for lousy IE display!
Written by ED on November 27, 2007 – 2:20 am - Posted in Blogosphere, Trivial & Whining |A few friends like Kloudiia, Janice and Xizor have “complained” to me about the lousy display in IE whenever they visit any of my blogs. A matter of fact, I was quite lost as to what I should do. Afterall, there is always a struggle between using Firefox or IE.
I finally found the criminal (or at least the suspects) responsible for the messy layout in IE. I removed the PHP plugin containing the Top Commentators PHP code, and hola… everything in IE looks perfect now. However, I can’t say I have located the specific criminal. I am not sure if it’s the PHP plugin itself… or is it the Top Commentators code but whichever the case, removing this particular section sort out the display problem in IE.
If anyone still have display problems while viewing my blogs from IE, please let me know.
Meanwhile, the Top Commentators plugin will be gone. I have not really been around searching for a new one too. Are there any recommendations? I think I will be uninstalling the PHP and Top Commentators plugins totally. Or is there any better advice?

What is PHP? I’m also having problems viewing my blog when using IE, so now I change to Firefox. Looks like I’m an ostrich which has its head stuck in the hole…. hehe…. I cannot solve the problem also.

ECL: It’s exactly like the Text Widget… but this takes the PHP code rather than HTML codes.
Sicarii: I see. Are you on IE or FF? I know IE it loads really slow. It’s working fine on my FF.

I am using FF, but don’t worry too much about it; it could just be the network or whatever.
I am kinda done with some themes as it seems that there are always some problems here and there for some of my readers. Therefore, you’ll see I’ve gone back to basics and just stick to the default theme.
Shalom!

Hey Sicarii, you’re not alone. I took a long time to load up in FF too. Ed, what did you put up here? haha
And I thought I’m the only one!

You could possibility load a different set of CSS specifically for IE only, but thats if it really concern you and your beloved users. If you are someone who bother not about browser specific bugs, then continue to stick with W3C standards instead.
